Above Left:

Front of bottle (with a slightly wider side of the pentagon).

Embossed: "TRADE MARK B.W.O. Co"

Above right:

Embossed on second, right-hand panel: "OYSTERS"

Extremely rare in such mint condition.

Left:

Close-up of the raised 'necklace' pattern, bubbled glass and primitive top.

Left:

Heavy and bubble-filled base. A rather unusual shape...

Left:

Interior shot showing base of pentagon. The BWO crest is reversed on panel at bottom, and "OYSTERS" reversed on third panel, right.

Other BWO Bottles

Above, Left to right:

A. B. C.  Rectangular bottle - clear, purple, blue (blue the rarest with about 8 known).

Embossed on one side: "THIS BOTTLE IS THE PROPERTY OF" and embossed on the reverse side: "BRISBANE WATER WOY WOY N.S.W. OYSTER CO.." (see close-ups below)

D. E. Four-sided bottle. Standard trade mark/logo embossing on front and vertical "OYSTER" embossed on right-hand side. (see close-ups below)

F. Five-sided bottle, as previously shown.

Important Note:

D. The only colour available: 'Ross Green'.

E. With artifical exposure to radiation, this one has been turned an uncharacteristically deep purple colour in order to sell to the unsuspecting. Do not be fooled. Commonly called 'Zapping'.

Left to right:

(As above)

Green, four-sided B.W.O. and rare, blue bottle.

Left:

Embossing on the right-hand side of 4-sided green, as above.

Left:

Crude and applied-top of the green.

Left:

Heavy, uneven and bubble-filled base of the green.

Below:

Close-ups of the very faint embossing as found on the blue, as above. All of B.W.O.'s rectangular bottles have somewhat faint embossing...

Left:

Close up of the crude and bubble-filled top of the blue.
